Wanda Lee McKinstry
On Sunday, March 9, 2014, Wanda Lee McKinstry, age 83, passed away in Pinckneyville, Illinois. Born on March 11, 1929, near Pyatt’s Wye, she was the daughter of Lucian Pyatt. She married George Edgar McKinstry on July 30, 1955, at Galum Presbyterian Church. Together they shared 55 years of marriage.
She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis when she was 42 years old. Although she endured the disease for 42 years, she never questioned God’s ability to heal her. She never lost faith in Him and in the power of prayer. During her final months, she gathered with her swimming friends and celebrated their birthdays in a celebratory way. The funeral home had the honor of arranging the memorial service and burial.

The family of Lonnie Lee Pyatt would like to extend their condolences. Lonnie was born on November 16, 1934, in Lafayette, Indiana, to Thomas Richard Pyatt and Rosetta Smith Pyatt. He was a commercial painter, and enjoyed mushroom hunting and collecting scrap metal. He is survived by his wife, Andrea Robbins, as well as his parents and ten siblings. His funeral service will take place at Dick Pyatt Funeral Home, Inc. in West Plains.
The family will be able to provide a military-style service to honor his life. Dick was the first Eagle Scout in Perry County. He served in the Army during the Korean War and in the graves registration service. Dick Pyatt was also an active member of his community. He was a member of the Illinois Funeral Directors Association, the Pinckneyville Chamber of Commerce, and the local American Legion chapter. He will be greatly missed by his family, and the community he served.
The Pyatt family is a third generation of funeral directors. Kevin Pyatt, Sr., is the owner of the funeral home. His father Maurice Pyatt founded the funeral home in 1935. Kevin and Beth Pyatt live on Pyatt Blacktop south of Pinckneyville. They have four adult children, Julie Crockett in Washington, D.C., James Pyatt in Austin, TX, Dylan Shook in Brooksville, FL, and Bailey Shira in CleElum, WA.
St. Bruno Catholic Church
Adelaide’s life touched many people. She was kind, patient, and had a sharp sense of humor. The family is grateful for the care she received at home, especially from her home health care providers, and the Eucharistic Ministers at St. Bruno Catholic Church. The funeral mass will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church on Thursday, June 28, and Father Brian Barker will officiate.
The deceased is survived by his wife, Angela May Manuel; half-brother, Jack Dawson; and sister-in-law, Andy Lewis. His parents and infant brother, Rod Manuel, predeceased him. The funeral mass will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, and there will also be military graveside services at St. Bruno Cemetery. Those who wish may send flowers in lieu of flowers.
In addition to her husband and mother, Jane Fontana is survived by her four children, Peter Watson, Kathryn Jenkel, and Joel McIntyre. She is also survived by three grandchildren. Jane is buried at St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery in Pinckneyville. Robert G. “Bob” Pyatt passed away Sunday, December 29, 2019 in Pinckneyville, IL. He was 79. The family of Robert is asking for memorial donations to First United Presbyterian Church, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. A military graveside rite will be conducted by Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post #1504 after the memorial service. Friends may visit the family at Pyatt Funeral Home Thursday, and the family will receive friends on Friday at First United Presbyterian Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Presbyterian Church at Pyatt Funeral Home or to the Pinckneyville Community High School Education Foundation.
The funeral service is the time to express gratitude to those who helped make Wanda’s life possible. She was a dedicated member of Catholic Zoom and First United Presbyterian Church in Pinckneyville. A visitation will be held Monday from 9 to 11 a.m. to honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the First United Presbyterian Church at Pyatt Funeral Home.
The Rev. Ralph M. Donaldson, a former pastor of First United Presbyterian Church, officiated the service. His service included a memorial service for his mother, who passed away unexpectedly in 1956. Dick and Ramona Logan had two children together. Cynthia Denise Coleman and Larry Coleman. The couple had two adopted sons together. They later married Gayl Simonds Alexander in 1976.

The First Baptist Church in Pinckneyville, IL, will host a visitation on Monday. Heart to Heart Hospice in Evansville, IN, has been chosen as a recipient of the memorial donation. All Covid-19 mandates will be followed.
The family has organized a Memorial Fund for Londa, which is in lieu of flowers. The family would like to thank everyone who gave their time and money to help the family. They appreciate all of the support they received and their love for their mother. They would also appreciate your kind consideration of this. While a memorial is an honor to the family, it is not a requirement. The family will make every effort to ensure that the family is given the peace and comfort they deserve.
