Levander Funeral Home is run by Tony Levander, who specializes in the final wishes of families. The family of James H. Langan was a member of the Levander Family for more than 45 years. He served in the Air Force from 1956 to 1961. He and his wife, Margaret, had five children and were married on 16 Apr 1962 in Omaha. Afterwards, he died on 17 Aug 1999 in Cedar Rapids. His wife, five children, and brother, James L. Thompson, predeceased him.

Martin Rutten was born on 7 Sep 1932 in Boone Co., NE. He married Rosemary Foland on 31 Dec. 1954. They farmed in Boone County and he retired from the Road Department. His death occurred on Fri., 12 Nov. 1999 in Grand Island, NE. His wife and daughter survived him. His parents were Clara Rutten and George Levander.

On the day of his death, he had the honor of arranging the funeral service for Mr. Baker. Besides arranging the cremation, Levander Funeral Home also arranged a memorial service for his wife. She had been a long-time friend of Tony Levander. They had many common friends, and it was a joy for both of them to be remembered with love.

Mr. Lansing’s family was extremely close to his heart. His parents, John and Matilda (Clemens), were the best of friends. The funeral home was established in 1960 in Albion, Nebraska. The funeral home has a large chapel and was once the Dolce-Scheef Mortuary. In 2010, the funeral home merged with the Meyer Home for Funerals in Albion. In 1993, the company expanded to Cedar Rapids and added a private family room, enlarged selection room, and a four-car garage. Its funeral director, Ron Levander, graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Mortuary Science and has been with the company ever since.
