Helgeson Funeral Homes’ Joy service was held on December 8th. Joy was a beloved mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and granddaughter. She was also beloved by her friends and family. The family is grateful for all the condolences and love sent during this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider planting a tree in her honor. Helgeson Funeral Homes was honored to serve her family and friends.

Donna joined the Helgeson’s staff in September 2015. She had worked at a local high school for 34 years. She and her husband Steve are the parents of nine grandchildren. She enjoys hunting and cross-country skiing. She is also the wife of Dale Helgeson. They have been married for 30 years. Joy has three grown children and five grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She had a passion for music and played the piano and sang in many groups. She enjoyed playing the piano with her husband and was an excellent pianist. She loved to sing and dance and was a member of the local jazz band. She passed away peacefully at Tuff Memorial Home. She was born in Canby, MN on February 3, 1921. She graduated from Canby High School in 1939 and from the Minnesota Normal School in 1941. She adored music and spent most of her life immersed in it.

She was an active member of her church choir and sang at dozens of funerals. She also led the Shalom Circle and volunteered for many church functions. After marrying her husband, Harlan, she made a new life for herself in Minnewaukan, Iowa. They had two daughters, a son and a granddaughter. Harlan passed away in 1994. Joy will be missed by all who knew her.

Before joining Helgeson Funeral Home in September 2015, Donna served as an office secretary at a local high school for 34 years. She and her husband Steve have nine grandchildren. Donna enjoyed cross-country skiing. Her spouse, Louise Helgeson, joined the staff in April 2015.

Donna Helgeson was a lifelong resident of the Fargo area. She was born on November 4, 1946, to Walter and Mary Mootz. She was married to Lawrence Fargo in 1972 and died in Brockton on February 16, 2019. She is survived by her husband, Duane Fargo of Brockton, Massachusetts, five nieces, three nephews, and countless great nieces and nephews.

Her life was full of love and laughter. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her children, Michael Westphal of Badger and Cheryl Johnson of Roseau. She had nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Arthur and Lavern Welin, and sister Adeline. Helgeson Funeral Home in Badger, MN will serve her family with the utmost dignity.

The Louise Helgeson family is ecstatic to announce the death of their beloved mother. Louise passed away peacefully on March 16, 2013 at the age of 94. She was born in Park River, North Dakota. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the United Lutheran Church. Condolences may be left on her memorial page. You may send flowers or send a condolence card to express your sympathy.

In addition to Louise, they also have several employees. Donna Helgeson joined the staff of Helgeson’s in September 2015. She is a retired office secretary from a local high school. Donna and her husband Steve are the proud parents of nine grandchildren. They enjoy cross-country skiing. Their spouse Louise joined the Helgeson staff in April 2015. Both of them have children, and enjoy spending time with their families.

The family of Janice Helgeson would like to thank everyone who sent flowers and trees. This woman was married to Robert Watland for 58 years. She has three sons and a daughter. She is survived by many loving grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A memorial to her life would be appreciated by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider leaving a memorial donation to the St. Olaf Lutheran Cemetery Fund.

In addition to her mother, she had three brothers and a sister. The funeral director will be able to make arrangements for Stanley Helgeson, who died March 31, 2019.
