The history of Dukes-Harley Funeral Home began in the early 1900s when I.S. Harley joined the team. In 1936, the funeral home moved to a Greek Revival mansion. For nearly sixty years, the funeral home operated in the mansion, which had been the residence of cotton merchant W.S. Lining. In 1980, the funeral home was acquired by A.J. Hutto, who completed construction of the current building on Columbia Street in 2002.
